This project required exploring three distinct approaches: a purely typographic poster, a photographic poster, and a poster composed of graphic shapes.
Whiplash is a series of three posters inspired by Damien Chazelle's film Whiplash. The project involved choosing a specific scene from the film;
I chose the one between 1:36:48 and 1:37:34. The key phrase “I'll cue you” served as the guiding principle.
This scene marks the moment when we understand that Andrew, played by Miles Teller, finally manages to surpass himself and become better. All his efforts finally pay off. I also see this sequence as a form of revenge against Terence, played by J.K. Simmons, whose psychological abuse of Andrew runs throughout the film. This final confrontation gives the scene a particular intensity and power.
