Design and production of a sheet of ten stamps dedicated to the traditional Swiss sport of Steinstossen. The project was inspired by the famous Unspunnen stone, used in stone throwing competitions, which was stolen and remains missing to this day.
I chose to use this disappearance as a conceptual starting point: the stone is deliberately not represented, but suggested by a void,
a hole that makes it perceptible by its absence.
The throwing motion is broken down into ten stages, each corresponding to a stamp, in order to evoke the gesture as a freeze frame, similar to a time-lapse effect. The typography chosen is inspired by the engraving on the original stone.
Red, the emblematic color of Switzerland, creates a strong contrast with the black and white images, reinforcing the national identity of the project.
